LOL - Great one Bill...
10% of an organization with 50% too many employees is not very impressive.
So, what exactly do you do here?
I listen to them a good deal lately, but with a specific ear. I prefer it to fox, with the mindset that fox is just leftist controlled opposition, while npr just gives me exactly what the left is putting out.
For example, I love listening to their on-the-ground reports from Ukraine, risking their lives to report their truth.
I picture the mental image of a broadcasting conference room somewhere in DC or NYC, a big table, a microphone at each chair, a script on the table. One mic/script is the "reporter". Another is the "damsel in distress". Still, another is the yeller/crier/sobber. And, someone with the sound effects recordings of whatever is needed for this scene - dog barking, bombs/booms in the distance, breaking glass. Another for weather effects - wind, leaves. Etc.
Yup—if they aren’t whining about “climate change” it is “radical right wing racist extremism”.
They can easily be replaced by computers—the leftists keep repeating the same talking points over and over and over...
people whose skills, spirit and talents help make NPR what it is today,
would have no trouble finding a top-flight job in either the food service or housekeeping industries ...
This cesspool has no reason to exist.
Origin was the capitalist networks controlled so much of the information to people that there should be an outlet for the other points of view who couldn’t afford advertising or to buy radio stations.
For decades the media has been leftist controlled propaganda PLUS the unnecessary all leftist NPR. As well as PBS TV.
Our tax money to promote our demise under Commies.
It should be stopped.
Note:
Taxpayer money going to PBS.
$26.67M for PBS support; $22.84M for grants for radio programming and national program production and acquisition; $22.25M for CPB administrative costs; $7.00M for the Radio Program Fund.
Nope. Government money always comes with strings.
I would add many professions in the Red Light districts.
100%
If NPR went off air today 99.8% of Americans wouldn’t even notice!
Anyone have the “that’s a shame” GIF handy?
Yup—if they aren’t whining about “climate change” it is “radical right wing racist extremism”.
***********
The Left is loud, well organized and persistent. And they are very good at “branding” the issues to advance their agenda.
The GOP by contrast is listless, timid and taciturn. Its no contest.
The best the GOP can do to look relevant is to stand for something now and then. But they don’t so the Left keeps gaining ground.
The left is also very good at making their “hot” issues of one decade “go silent” the next.
—Anti war—not a peep these days.
—Anti vaccine and anti Big Pharma—not a peep these days.
—Anti Big Tech and .gov spying—not a peep these days.
—Anti censorship—not a peep these days.
—For brave news media investigative reporters fighting the “man”—not a peep these days.
Another one for the list:
—Environmental issues. Funny how silent they now are about all the whales and dolphins washing up on beaches. Environmental concerns have taken a back seat to their profitable green energy scams. In the same vein its also interesting to see mining operations recently getting the green light (pun intended) over the objections of some environmentalists and tribal rights. The impact of resource extraction is suddenly no longer a big environmental concern for the Left.
The hallmark of liberalism is hypocrisy.
