The Battle of Iwo Jima could have been avoided. The Allies could have blockaded it and moved on in their island hopping. The decision to take the island at that time was a judgement call.

Iwo was an offshoot of Pearl Harbor, just like Okinawa.
That kind of battle was a guarantee after the Japanese trained and made modifications to attack the US fleet on US soil.
You start an aggressive war, it could very well come home to haunt you.
Had Truman not dropped the atomic bombs, there would actually be any Japanese left, the entire mainland would have ended like Iwo.

Except Iwo was about halfway on a more or less direct line of bearing between Japan and the main B29 base in the Marianias. Okinawa is southeast and nearer the operational range of the B29s from the Marianias.

I want the best quality picture from a streaming device, especially with 4K. Nvidia Shield is expensive, but it absolutely gives me the sharpest, best picture. Next is the Smart Service on my LG TV, with the Roku Ultra close behind and the Amazon Fire Cube last. Of all three, I like the Roku interface the best, although that’s a matter of personal preference. For whatever reason, the LG TV’s Smart Service does not get all of the streaming services the Roku and Nvidia does.
