She said she didn’t participate. Bugliosi, the prosecutor, was willing to go along with that because he wanted an eyewitness and wanted her to be credible and had to justify not charging her. I’ve never been convinced one way or the other. I guess I’ve got to give her the benefit of the doubt. She certainly went with the others and I don’t think she turned herself in until the others had been arrested. But deals like that are done all the time and she did help get the others get convicted.
She did not ever get out of the car. She never went up to the house.

That’s not true. He own testimony was she walked with others to the house and Tex asked to go back to the driveway and act as a lookout. She said when she heard the screams she went up to the house “to make it stop “ and saw Tex stab Voytek and saw Krenwinkel stab Folger. She also accompanied the group the second night but never went into the LaBianca house.
She was willing to take part in the robberies and did so. Kasabian's own testimony was that she did go into the house, and later told a newspaper The Observer: "I saw a woman in a white dress and she had blood all over her and she was screaming and she was calling for her mom. I saw Katie stabbing her. I thought about going to a house where there were lights down the road and then I said, 'No, don't do that, because they'll find me and kill all those people'. So I went down the hill and I got into the car and I just stayed there and waited."
So she turned State's evidence to save her sorry ass for any crimes she had already willingly committed, and was allowed to walk away without charges, despite taking part in their robberies, and despite being at the LaBianca and Tate murders. Innocent bystander? Hardly.

Manson held her little baby hostage basically in care by another family member who was loyal to him. Linda was raped and beaten by Manson before those nights and feared for her life and her child’s life. She understood how bad he was. But yes, thankfully she testified against them all. That took courage.

early on in the violent Family proceedings, Kasabian realized the horrendous implications of it all, and willingly turned state’s evidence against Manson and his bunch...without her testimony, Bugliosi’s Helter Skelter theory would never have seen light of day...
just so you know, she never harmed anyone, and her participation as driver was forced on her...yeah, she was guilty of something; she was guilty of being a confused, malleable young girl with a kid and a footloose husband...

Her first mistake was getting involved with these losers, and exposing her child to that kind of lifestyle. Should have been charged with child abuse/neglect. She seems to have run off to her mother’s in New Hampshire a day or two after the Tate and LaBianca murders, which makes me wonder why she hadn’t stayed near her family to begin with, and ended up in California. She willingly participated in robberies when she first joined...robbed a friend, and her ex-husband. She admits to sleeping with Manson. Maybe she decided it was rape later on, so she’d look more like a victim. She only turned herself in when she heard there was an arrest warrant on her. If she was so upset by the murders, and believed herself innocent, why didn’t she contact the police before that? Probably hoping her name wouldn’t even come up as part of the crew. She wasn’t innocent by any means. I don’t recall any of the other members of Manson’s gang, those arrested, or otherwise, backing up her claims.

Putin is the only Russian who was intent on invading the Ukraine for his insane ‘master plan’ to return Russia to it’s USSR glory days... His invasion of the Crimea was the first part of that ‘master plan’. When he dies, his dream of the USSR glory days (which included food shortages, gulags, thought police and no freedom) will disappear with him forever.
Nobody in Russia is interested in the USSR glory days, because they know that they never existed in the first place.
I never said or thought she was innocent. I was pointing out she was innocent of murder. She was a young hippie girl with wayward ways. She prob was afraid of Manson and that family, they already had murdered and would murder her.
She’d even been there during the murders, sitting outside in the getaway car, listening to the victims scream while her friends chased people across the lawn slashing and knifing them to death. Imagine being young and witnessing that? They were terrifying. She might’ve figured if she called the police they’d figure it was her and kill her or kill her baby or both. With that group, anything.
Manson wanted her to kill some actor, took her over to his apartment complex and she deliberately knocked on the wrong door to save the guys life, which she did. When a stranger opened, Linda said: “Oh, excuse me. Wrong door.” They believed it was the wrong place and he never was killed. She was young and prob had no idea what to do except to hide from them. Maybe needed time to process things, she was not a murderer if it wasn’t for Kasabian they would likely have not gotten put away.
