You keep saying she was young. She was 20 at the time...not a child. And she drove the getaway car from the Tate murders. She ran away with her child from the Manson camp, a day or two after the August 1969 murders. She went back home to her mother’s in New Hampshire, yet she never turned herself into police until October. You seem to give her a pass for not reporting any of it to the police in New Hampshire, until she heard there was a warrant out for her arrest. She only came forward after she was found out. Having worked in law enforcement for 25 years, I’m less willing to give her a pass because of that. She got a good deal from the prosecution, and avoided punishment in this world for anything she may have done. She’s finally met her maker. Whatever she said she did or didn’t do was thrashed out between her and God.
Well, all I see is you don’t get it.
you know what my fav part was? When they went to the coyote, those old fashioned interiors, that is what you don’t get in the restaurants these days. You get lousy bright lights like in a psyche ward and hard chairs. And for that you pay lousy prices.
Oh those lovely booths and cheap food in those days.
Get what? That I refuse to be a bleeding hearted liberal, and give a people excuses for making bad life decisions?
She drove the getaway car.
Yep, I was not expecting that ending and I really enjoyed it.
There is a restaurant on the top floor of Binion’s Gambling Hall in old Las Vegas that is still like that. At least it was when I was last there.
Big semi circular booths. Dark lighting. It has not changed since the 1950s. It has big windows on the souht side of the building.
Nice view looking south down the Strip at night.
Oh how I’d love to sit in there and drink a margarita and veg out.
When I first came to Phoenix the Mexican food was piled 5 or 6 inches high on the plate and was delicious, and the cost was 1.85 for a combo plate. It was at the same year those murders happened in LA.
