Politically this could help the GOP in the short term, because if he’s absent from the Senate , that’s one less Democratic vote in the senate for any legislation.

If someone is so depressed he needs to be in a mental hospital he has no business being a Senator. Never mind that thus is likely just a scam to keep the brain dead Fetterman incommunicado.

These PA Republicans aren’t thinking this through. If Fetterman resigns today, PA’s Democratic Governor appoints a temporary replacement when will serve until a permanent replacement is elected in November.
If they keep pretending Fetterman is alive while he can’t function in office, the Democrats lose a vote in the Senate.
The PA GOP would be better off calling on Fetterman to rest well and never show his face in public for the next six years.

They don't call the GOP the stupid party for nothing. Fettermen will best serve Pennsylvania by staying alive, keeping the seat, but not being able to cast a vote for far left policies.
This will surely happen if he actually gets well enough to serve or allows the governor to appoint a Bob Casey, Jr. lookalike.

The rats only have to run out the clock until mid August. I believe at that point the rat Governor can appoint.

Is this the same Pennsylvania GOP that for the most part refused to get behind and support the Republican candidate for that Senate seat last year? The one the GOP voter’s elected to be the nominee? If so, they have no room to complain or demand anything. The PA GOP moved to the left side of the boat last year and now they are complaining that it is tipping over!

If he’s too sick to show up and vote but stays Senator, isn’t that the best scenario?

With the Bolshevik that we have in the governors office right now, we do not want him appointing anyone…
Special election would be better, but he’ll never let that happen
