If you drive just a few miles out of Asheville, it’s a very conservative and safe area.
100%. Hope they all don’t move to red states.
In 2005, Terry Bellamy, the first female African American mayor, was elected as mayor of Asheville, NC. Charles Worley was the mayor prior to that, and he was a moderate Democrat. Today, Worley would be considered a Republican.
Esther Manheimer, Democrat, was elected mayor of Asheville in 2013. Manheimer cut the police funding by 3% in 2020. That’s when the rot really started setting into the town. It’s been going downhill ever since.

“Asheville created a 30/60/90 plan aimed at working toward social justice and racial equity.
In the 60 day timeframe, discussions were to begin on defunding the police by 50%. Those talks did happen, but at a smaller scale. The budget the city approved for next year reduces police funding by just 3%.”
Ashville? I’m going to have to buy a crime map to decide where not to stay when I plan my next road trip.
Asheville is a haven of weird pagan religions too. Used to be a beautiful mountain town, now a leftwing cesspool.
Leftists don’t want quiet, peaceful mountain towns, like termites, they move from one to the next, until they are all like Los Angeles.

Amen, brother. Citizens there are just as politically ignorant as the morons on the West Coast. Now they’re getting exactly what they deserve.

Exactly...they are sifting north into East Tennessee, and the TN folk don’t see it coming.
