“less carnage” does not translate, immediately, to less death.
I appreciate your passion. But, anything conflating these two situations is purely supposition.
Do we want to believe that more aggressive police response in Uvalde would have save lives? Yes, of course, we do. Can we conclusively prove that? No. No, we cannot.
Can we cheer the police response in Nashville? Yes, of course, we can. Is it a mirror of Uvalde? No. No, it is not. And, there are no circumstances in which they would ever be on equal footing.
Per some reports, the timeline from arrival to ‘solution’ was 5 minutes.
It was a total of 15 minutes from dispatch to ‘solution’.
What studies?
Given the fact that once the shooter at Uvalde was engaged by an armed policeman, his carnage was stopped, shows that my position is actually based upon the reality of the situation.
If the officer had performed that service earlier, it would have resulted in less bodies. Why did the officer stop the shooter? To stop the shooter from killing more children. Ergo, a faster engagement by cops reduces the number of those killed.
Your position is unreasonable given all the facts, so I have to assume you are a Uvalde police officer or related to one of them who failed to act as those children were slaughtered.
You’re quite stupid, aren’t you? I guess you rely on your pseudo-logical writing style to conceal it. There is no EMPIRICAL way to prove it because it is a counter factual, it never happened so OF COURSE it can’t be proved empirically, dumbsht! It is proven RATIONALLY and LOGICALLY by examining the events, their circumstances, actions and outcomes and then synthesizing them into the most likely overall picture of other potential outcomes.
Shadowlands1960’s take is almost certainly accurate and has nothing to do with what he or “conservatives want to believe”. How the hell do you know that by the way can you prove it EMPIRICALLY? Do you have empirical access to the contents of his mind? This has nothing to do with “popular perceptions” but the facts of the situation. It is you who is lost in your vapid and deeply unintelligent “perceptions”.
Take it from me, you have no clue about epistemology, rational or critical thinking. What did you do, read some high-school pamphlet on those subjects and try your hand at proving how smart you are? Puerile, lame and deeply disingenuous.
Better minds than you have analyzed this subject, and better men than you handled the situation.
Took me less than 10 minutes on Google to find a study by a master’s student at Iowa State University that shows decreased casualty rate corresponding to a shorter police response time. Models were created using empirical data from the FBI
Truth is 1st causualty of the fog of war, but you have to be decisive. Nashville Metro PD was obviously decisive and resolved but not impetuous and our judgement of their actions is also decisive. They were smooth operators by the grace of God.
I surely enjoyed your personal attack. Asshole...
