Even if Trump listed this as “legal expenses”, people have to understand the purpose of the laws as written. The reason these laws exist in New York is that many corporations will hide illegal expenses from their shareholders and potential investors.
Trump Enterprises is a PRIVATE BUSINESS! He is not “hiding” expenses from anyone except himself...at best!! So, as the law is written, technically he MAY HAVE violated a misdemeanor paperwork issue. But, as the law was intended, Trump did not defraud anyone of anything - PERIOD! So, therefore, since he wasn’t hiding his “expenses” from potential investors or shareholders, this whole thing should be thrown out...not to mention the statute of limitations has run out on this whole thing, anyway!!
