Is it somehow correlated with the QUALITY of immigrants that have been coming to the USA and attending our public schools?
Millions of low IQ invaders invited by the the Uniparty make no difference, so causes remain a mystery, right Sen. Romney, et al?
Look at our schools today, most of them far more concerned about students sexual orientation or how dark their skin color is vs the 3 Rs.
Add to this, rowdy students being permitted to disrespect and even physically attack teachers who expect attention to be on the assignment, not on the cell phones.
Take a f’ing guess. Import the turd world, and worship the 13% millstone around our necks, and IQ will most definitely drop. the late 90s is when this illegal alien madness kicked into high gear.
This is not a serious country. Things will get far, far worse before they get better, I fear. Our “fellow” citizens are not our peers, nor can they sustain the high trust society which was built by ethnic Americans with long roots in this land.

That sounds like a reasonable factor to include in the overall picture.
You would also have to consider the internet, smartphones and gaming too IMO. I think the elasticity of the mind weakens when a person focuses intensely for hours and hours at a time on the limited experiences those machines offer. Especially when the fascination with it begins in childhood.
Those who spend less time reading have more time to spend procreating.

The US has had very heavy immigration for decades mostly from relatively low-Iq countries.
Granted, that does not explain some other national cases.
Saw a pre-COVID story that stated the USA was 24th in the world in math skills. However, the USA ranked first in how they *felt* about their math skills.

When they stopped teaching reading, writing and arithmetic and started teaching how to put a condom on a banana, it all started downhill from there.
