As usual, Republicans rooting for the DEFEAT of the REPUBLICAN nominee, so they can regain the mechanisms of a corrupt and inept party.

What’s to stop the Democrats from stealing 2024 like they did 2020?

What exactly is a “mainstream” conservative, Matt? Sounds to me like that’s someone who only tinkers around the edges of the radical Democrat agenda. Want to ban “assault” weapons and make it nearly impossible to own a gun? No problem for “mainstream” conservatives. You’ll still be able to practice self defense with a bolt action rifle or revolver, after appropriate training and licensing of course. Want to kill babies in the womb? Again, no real issues for “mainstream” conservatives. Oh, they are personally opposed to abortion, just not willing to act on that opposition in any meaningful way. The list goes on and on. “Mainstream” conservatives, you see, aren’t the slightest bit conservative in reality.

If Trump does not “win” in 2024, then the Titanic will have sunk beneath the waves.

Matt K. Lewis is an American conservative political writer, blogger, podcaster, and columnist for The Daily Beast, formerly with The Daily Caller, and has written for The Week. He has also appeared on CNN as a political commentator. Lewis was raised in Myersville, Maryland.

You certainly know some of these players for sure Cotton1706. Thanks for pointing that out. I would have assumed he was just another leftist blogger stating some fantasy. 🙂

I wonder if he departed ways or did The Daily Caller realize he was a phony, and they parted ways with him.

“As a Never Trump conservative,”

Don’t believe him. The only sense in which he is conservative is to say that he is a false/faux/phony/fake/pretend conservative. He is not conservative. I was never impressed by George Will either. It turns out he was a phony all along.

Americans deserve honest elections. Americans deserve the peace and prosperity we had with Trump. For that matter, the world deserves the peace and prosperity that existed when Trump was President.

I can’t really blame these people. They’re all bent out of shape because their political party was hijacked by a wealthy clown who isn’t really a Republican at all.

Hell — I’ve supported Trump all this time because I’m not a Republican, either.

There is no GOP there is only President Trump.

The GOP is simply a mixed extension of an opposition uniparty.

The 2024 election will be "fortified", BY THE REPUBLICANS, to defeat their own candidate.

I know it's late, and I know Trump wants that damn GOP nomination to show up McConnell, Romney, and the rest (It's not YOUR party, It's MINE!), but this is just the vanity of an old man because, bottom line, it IS their party and there is no alternative party organization to get rid of the old one.

The more I study Bonaparte, the more I see Trump's dilemma.

Charismatic, inspirational, enough followers to topple the government and even to wage war - but not enough to defeat, in the end, the Ancien Régime and its international allies.

If Trump were ever to return to power, and were to govern, he would either have to do so behind bayonets, or he would have to form a political movement that could sweep 5000 administrators and generals into power along with him to take out the trash permanently.

His enemies, united in Blue-Red coalition, know this perfectly well, which is why they act the way they do, why they fear him, even though they contained him so well the last time.

Trump as the GOP nominee MAKES NO SENSE. The GOP is made up of his enemies. Forcing them to nominate him DOES constitute "owning" them, showing them for the hollow men they are - but even if the Dem-GOP coalition fails to fix the election (and they won't), it will not bring the government this country needs to power.

A Trump inauguration as a "Republican" in 2025 will start an American Cent jours (Hundred days) which will end with assassination or exile.

Winning, this time, requires running AGAINST both parties (which Americans rightly hate), and Donald Trump has shown us nothing to suggest he can form a cross-party movement to drain the swamp.

There are green shoots (new life, not eco-nut) in both parties, that understand the situation (RFK jr, Tulsi, Tucker Carlson, MTG, Kris Kobach, etc). The two party system exists to suppress change. Time to make its destruction Job #1.

I wonder what makes a write like this so self-righteous and judgmental. At a certain point, they decided to use their positions of influence to shamelessly try to affect elections. The appearance of impartiality is completely out the window. These people are scum.

Yet Ronna will still be running the party until the universe dies.

All of my hope for the GOP was shattered on Jan 6, 2021.

There is no recovering from that.

The GOP destroyed a LOT more than their own party on that day.

I voted for Trump twice, and I would do it again... but I have lost a lot of confidence in him over his position on the jab and his misguided priorities since being out of office.

I’m looking up at this point... not to DC.

It has been observed that political parties do not change until they have endured multiple losses.

If you want to see the GOP lose every election for the next century, rig the primaries so a RINO wins, or sandbag Trump in the general again.

I like DeSantis personally. I'd like for him to debate Trump in the primaries and hope he runs again in 2028. But without Trump voters, the GOP is reduced to third party status.
