I have all my groceries delivered now from my Walmart Market after receiving attitudes when I asked for a checker. I’ll drop by my local grocery store when the sales are good but even that store is expensive. I love just opening the front door in my jammies and seeing all my groceries. Yes, there’s a fee, but it’s worth it. And, for an extra 40.00/year it automatically tips the drivers. That saves a lot since you don’t want to under tip the drivers since they are usually the same ones who delivers the food in my hood. Don’t want to piss them off!

I drop into my local Sprouts every now and then. Love the produce and they are the only store that sells Opal Apples around here. Before Biden, their chicken breasts were really inexpensive and so good. Now, I’m stuck purchasing frozen breasts from my local grocery store for 1.99/lb when on sale.

Interesting. My wife and I are "old school." We both like going to see what we are buying - squeeze the tomatoes, check the ripeness of the avocado, choose the steak that looks best-marbled, etc....

To each his own!

Whole Foods opened here in Bozeman, MT Feb 1.

The location is within the acreage of the Gallatin Valley Mall (just like Petco & Taco Bell) but NOT attached in any way.

Across the street is Rosauers — a high end grocery store — with a meat department that sells: Choice, Prime, local grass fed and Wagyu beef. It is a store that is busy and a bit pricy...

Key Point:

Both stores are on the Western edge of town, the last good stores before you drive to some on the best skiing in the world: Big Sky, Loan Peak Ranch (world class XC skiing) and the private Yellowstone Club (YC) — or Yellowstone Park itself.

Whole Foods is busy but the shoppers there are COMPLETELY different than the high end folks at Rosauers...sure some are local like myself but most of them are not Montana nice: they are East/West coast rude and dress differently (how do I know? I’m 4th gen. Montanan and have lived in this town since the early ‘80’s).

I predict WF will do well here BECAUSE of the massive amount of out-of-state/country folks who own vacation homes in this valley as well as in the Big Sky area (My BIL used to be a Journeyman plumber here - once he was working on a 17 bedroom, 28 bathroom house in the YC - Big $$).

Location, location, location...

In 2008 right after Barry was selected, My plant of 60 laid off everyone but 12 of us. The big shots took a 20% pay cut

Thankfully it is family owned, or they would have surely closed the doors

I agree with you when it comes to veggies and meat. I never order meat for delivery. With the prices of veggies so high these days, I order them online and 9 out of 10 times I haven’t been disappointed. I love cauliflower and when it’s 4.99 or higher in the store, it’s usually around 2.50/head at Walmart. Same with lettuce. 5.00 for a head of Iceberg lettuce? Ridiculous. It’s 1.98 at Walmart.

I get a Whole Foods delivery weekly through Amazon. The veggies and berries are fresh and the proteins also very nice. I’ve been very happy with it. It is a little pricey. I’ve never been in a Whole Foods store.

Agreed.

A flawed premise compounded by outrageous prices. Can’t possibly last....
