Covid shutting down office buildings killed me. My lunches were large orders. I’d make $75 to $100 on wach.
Then it was all booze for a while.
Why not venture capitalist?
The government now runs the delivery business. Correct?
I hear that. I work in a residential area on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, just across the Bay Bridge, so it wasn’t much of an issue for me (office buildings), but I’ve heard others say the same.
To buy votes, of course ...
I don’t use the services because of the cost, and I know my self well enough that I’d be ordering everyday!. I had no idea you tip on the mile and not the cost of the actual food (minus tax and delivery fee). Am I correct? How does the purchaser know the mileage?
Some customers DO tip on the cost of the food — it’s also a good deal for the Dasher, especially with the grocery store orders. Dashers tend to look at the number of items being ordered and the mileage both. The more items, usually the higher the tip. But it is usually an either/or...Dashers appreciate a good tip regardless! :-D I can tell you that if a Dasher sees long miles and low offer, they will usually refuse the order (’cause Door Dash doesn’t always tell us if there’s a tip at the other end).
“NYC proposes paying delivery-app workers up to $33 hourly: DoorDash doomsday”
How generous of the city to dole out such large sums of money that isn’t theirs.
A liberal is a thoughtful, kind, generous, big hearted, charitable person who will gladly give you the shirt...off of someone else’s back.
If you don’t know the mileage, you can look it up in Mapquest.
I think it is fine. I have never used it, so it is good to understand the mechanics of it from the delivery side.
Thank you.
I guess the service fee goes to the company. How much of the tip goes to the driver? Would they be better off if I left them a cash tip in an envelope on the doorstep?
I Hope they do it too! Serves them right. Killing business is their thing
KEEP in MIND:
Biden digital cash will record every penny you get-—even the tips.
My neighbor has everything delivered. This includes food from the food delivery services like Door Dash. Packages are on her doorstep everyday. I have never seen her bring home anything.
> Why is the city setting pay rates for a private business? <
Communists love to set up top-down command economies. They can’t resist it. It’s in their blood.
And today’s Democrats are all communists. Not a single Truman or JFK among them.
I live over 7 miles one way from nearest Pizza place....$14 in TIPS??? NOT happening.
I personally don’t like receiving cash tips just ‘cause I don’t use cash often. The whole tip goes to the driver. Door Dash got into hot water a few years ago for stealing tips, so now we get the full tips. Yes, the service fee goes to the company, and I believe the restaurants also pay DD for using the service, and from hearing some of the restaurants complain, it ain’t cheap!
Is everything about the same with uber eats? Can you do.both?
I know I’m being super opinionated here, but those are about the only groups of people that should be using DoorDash, or at least on a somewhat consistent basis. Yeah, I’m probably missing a group, but generally, if you’re too lazy to raise the fork to your own mouth, so to speak, maybe you just shouldn’t eat.
I hear you. A Dasher wouldn’t complain about a $7 tip, however, although we lose on the deal. But I hear you. I think people should pick up their own food if they live too far out.
