Willing to train, self-discipline, in order to organize and plan.

Colossally ignorant article regarding how the Cold War ended. “Reagan was just a dunce, and he wouldn’t meet with Shultz, and it was just chaos, and a bunch of right-wing meanies were pulling the strings, and they went about arms control all wrong.” Whatever.

Two terms of Reagan put the USSR on the ash-heap of history, just as he predicted, a fact which NOBODY in DC, academia, or Moscow thought possible in 1980.

Maybe Schultz was a snake all along. Kind of weird how the headline tries to lump Nixon and Reagan in with the pro-level grifter from Theranos.
In my experience, a good salesperson is a sucker for another good salesperson. Maybe that is what happened with Schultz and Holmes? LOL

Just a hit piece. Someone the Guardian always hated had the same blind spot tons of other people had.

Schultz, Mattis, and Kissinger were in the tank for Holmes because they were old fools and she was a young, hot blonde ... not one of the three knew jack squat about the technology that Holmes was supposedly developing ... and all of the above was exactly why they were picked to be on her Theranos board ... period ...

“A lot of smart people got taken in by Holmes”

a lot of SUPPOSEDLY smart people got taken in by Holmes ... mostly CEO types that actually weren’t as smart as they thought they were because most of them were ignorant of pretty much any technology, esp. bio and medical technology, and were impressed by a young, hot, blonde female con artist who was pretty good at tap-dancing while plowing through her pretty power-point presentation ... not a single one thought about looking behind the curtain, or even sending advisers educated in the sciences to look behind the curtain ... Walgreens and Safeway CEOs are among the ones that got taken for the above reasons ...

Shultz died in 2022, at the age of 100. What do you really think that he knew about Donald Trump? Maybe he remembered Trump in the nineties, but I doubt that he knew any more than what the DC Republican elite told him about Donald as a Republican.

I don’t think the military and our military manufacturing industry disliked Reagan.
The military personnel loved him.

But the people behind the military-industrial complex have little to no interest in ending global conflicts.

It's bad for business.

The military manufacturers loved Reagan and his intense belief in military readiness, the same reason the military itself loved him, we got those goods he was spending so much on.
