About 8 years ago I completely shifted my paradigm regarding the US. I see it like the EU, but with a standing military.
That is, it is actually 50 mostly sovereign countries that are members of the same over arching constitution and federaion.
My country is Kentucky. California is a distant and screwy neighbor.
BTW, this harkens back to the perception people had before the civil war - they identified with their “state” rather than the country.
The Nordstroms is at 5th and Market. The closing Whole Foods is at 8th and Market, right across from the Civic Center and the Orpheum Theater. I remember seeing Yul Brenner there in the King and I. Annie Lennox too. That Sam Spade detective door is in one of the buildings. So what am I getting at? Turn the empty hi-rises into jails. Plenty of space. Open the outdoor windows and ‘allow’ the jailed to jump. “Water tables’ for humans just above the ground. Can’t get any worse.
Have you ever been to China? Not the propaganda places the real China. The place defines the word shithole.
That’s why they built BART, to conveniently transport urban thugs throughout the area. Same purpose every mass transit system serves.
I considered doing that after Trump “lost” in 2020. Since then, i’ve been saying that America is in the process of committing suicide. Not even Trump can save this nation... not with a crooked judiciary.

I think a more news-worthy story would be one that lets the reader know which businesses will be remaining in San Franciso, California and also Portland, Oregon. Those are two cities that allow pretty much anything to go on without any complaint or push-back from their elected leaders.
However, each day I see another article letting me know which business is abandoning those cities instead of which have decided to remain for the duration of the coming apocalypse. Have ANY made the decision to remain and made a statement letting the criminal and violent homeless druggies that there will be at least one remaining business for them to rob?
But, but, but DeSantis spends too much time on cultural issues that don't impact peoples’ lives.

I lived there a bit in the late 80’s.
Was still a great American city back then, was still partially a Navy town.
Has really gone downhill .
Directly as a result of liberal policies .
There is a DIRECT correlation to policies of the left and the decline.
We conservatives should put data together showing exactly the harm they have done.
