The other question, beyond how many we can send, is where they fly from? We could probably send thousands of them. Several hundred easily. But if they fly from a base in Ukraine, that’s the biggest target in the war. If they fly from outside Ukraine, those bases in NATO countries have become combative and legitimate targets. I’m sure someone will point out that they can fly from a highway somewhere, but that’s an interesting spot for training exercises, but the reality is that takes a tremendous logistical effort, and a reduction in effectiveness.

including landing after losing an engine and withstanding mock attacks...”

yes, I took the landing out of context, my fun for the day. Wondered if anyone would catch it.

I absolutely did notice (after I posted my comment)...and I think landing an F-16 deadstick is a bit more than a “technical maneuver”, especially if you are doing it for real and not already lined up dead on the ball coming in on the runway.

That was one of the most asinine articles I have read in a while.

I strongly suspect that the experienced American pilots went down a laundry list of pilot shortcomings, and when pressed for something positive, gave just those two examples, probably observed under high supervision and in a very controlled environment.

And those two examples are what were printed.

I propose and ask this because I cannot think of a finer way to retire our A-10 fleet than by having it work effectively in Ukraine.

Total BS — the story is classic gaslighting and many are falling for it.

Have you considered the same unit that “evaluated” these two pilots is more than likely the same unit that stands to win the contract to train them?

Can you say “job security”?

Oh I can... we have a limited supply left of them. Our grunts appreciate them a lot and do not want them retired. Also, we might really want them when Mexico finally explodes into a narco cartel civil war.

Besides if we send them to Ukraine, we would have to paint swastikas on the tailfins!

Gaslighting is what you trolls attempt to do and greatly fail at. Like your masters’ propaganda videos.

But as long as the war continues, you will have “job security,” barring some slip up on FR that gets your comments removed.

It is evident also that the closer it comes to the Ukraine offensive, the more panicked your lot becomes, with more desperate your attempts to gaslight, discredit and spread disinformation.

Over the course of eleven and a half total hours in nine separate simulations, the Ukrainian airmen outperformed US expectations in their quick ability to learn the ins and outs of the aircraft, according to the document.

Did they ever actually FLY an F-16?

This is you, of course we know who the phonies are:

“A Joint Chiefs of Staff publication on Information Operations, Joint Publication 3-13, reads:

Information Operations (IO) are described as the integrated employment of electronic warfare (EW), computer network operations (CNO), psychological operations (PSYOP), military deception (MILDEC), and operations security (OPSEC), in concert with specific supporting and related capabilities, to influence, disrupt, corrupt, or usurp adversarial human and automated decision making while protecting our own.”

Your position is puzzling -- from your comments you are the one supporting perpetuation of this conflict, by giving away some of our most advanced weapons systems (not to mention the tens of billions of taxpayer dollars already spent) to further the Democrat platform of escalating tensions with one of the world's nuclear powers, run by a maniacal kleptocrat dictator (the Russian, not the Ukrainian one).

Where do you Democrats draw the line on money, treasure, and blood to feed Zalensky's appetite?

No, but they put them up in a Holiday Inn Express, and the Morris ANG base commander promised them more nights there, late morning simulator times with weekends off, and free vodka when they come back with a taxpayer-subsidized contract in hand.

Sounds like a pretty good deal, especially if they'll throw in one of those leather A2 jackets and a squadron scarf.
