Yea, i wouldn’t support, in any way, the take down of Trump. The Repuke GOPe is trying to take down Trump and Desanctimonius is, to them, the best chance they’ve got. None of them like anyone in that group while in congress. DeSantis is ALL about the take down of Trump. He doesn’t care which shows very poor character. He’s a non starter, Biden admits he’s opposed to us. Mr day 8 pretends he’s not which makes him much worst and much more dangerous than Biden
Politics is politics. People say and do things to get elected. The key issue is their track record. Looking back to 2016:
1). Did Trump drain the swamp? No.
2). Did Trump build a wall across the entire southern border (a promise) and if so did Mexico pay for it? The wall was partially built. Mexico did not pay for it.
3). Did Trump fill his cabinet and other appointed jobs from the best in the business world or did he appoint Washington insiders? Washington insiders mostly. He fired his highest profile corporate CEO appointment, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
4). Was Mike Pence a great VP as Trump stated many times on the campaign trail and during his administration?
5). Did Trump eliminate the national debt in 8 years as promised or did he actually increase it during his 4 years, instead of making progress to reduce it? National debt increased by $3 trillion under Trump.
6). Trump promised lower drug prices. How much did they go down during his 4 years in office? Zero, they increased.
7) Did Trump repeal and replace Obamacare as he promised on the campaign trail in 2016? Repeal not accomplished. No replacement sent to Congress for a vote.
8). Did Trump bring manufacturing jobs back to the US in any significant amount? Manufacturing employment declined during his 4 years in office. In his final state of the Union address, Trump claimed to have succeeded in restoring US manufacturing.
Trump made promises he didn’t keep as does every politician. The key measure of a politician is not individual promises but the totality of his/her accomplishments in office, along with his/her political philosophy. Trump succeeded in some things and failed in others. So has DeSantis. What the record shows in each case is what they focused on in office and what they were able to accomplish against the opposition they faced. To give Trump credit, Trump as a President was more philosophically aligned with conservative philosophy than either Bush, Romney or McCain. To the credit of DeSantis, in office he has been strongly aligned with a conservative governance philosophy. In addition as governor he has taken a strong conservative stance on leftist social policies than Trump did as President.
As far as DeStantis and the wall an ad he ran in 2018 about a wall he would not have any control over as governor of Florida is meaningless today. The question for DeSantis today is: “Are you in favor of completing the wall and as President will you work aggressively to accomplish this goal.” If he answers in the affirmative, the next question should be, “How do you define completing the wall and ending illegal immigration?” The third question for both DeSantis and Trump should be, “If you are faced with a divided Congress, a Democrat majority Congress, or a reluctant GOP majority Congress (as Trump had from 2017-2019), how will you secure funding and permitting to complete the wall?
No, "less than twenty five", number should be eliminated.
Only hiring zero illegals will discourage "economic immigration".
It’s obvious he is controlled opposition. So sad. I had slot of hope for him.
Even if he loses, he will put himself in good stead for the next election. And, of course, Trump may not be in physical shape to run in a year. No one knows. You know that the party would pick a Hogan or Haley if they could.
Jebifying
Good one!
You can spot the Trump Sycophants easily, say something that is even remotely anti-Trump and the insults and venom come flying at you, it’s like throwing gasoline on a fire.
Sometimes I throw a Trump dig into a conversation just to see if any new insults come my way, it’s easy and amusing at the same time.
Heh!
DeSantis is building a wall which he wont’ be able to jump over to save his campaign.
I’m gonna build a wall for myself to stop me from voting for DeSantis in the primaries. But, heck, he’s building that wall, so I won’t have to do it.
One is a guy backed by RINO scum and they have been grooming him to fool you. That is the difference. Ron is a malleable person designed by RINOs to get rid of the America First agenda and return to RINO control.
It is obvious.
You said it. The RINOs know they can’t fool us with a Hogan or a Haley. But that is why they put their cards on Ron.
When someone “helps” you out in politics ..they expect a favor in return. And who you align with tells you the general direction you will be going.
I just wonder what favor Desamtis owes?
I believe that like me so many people have had all they can take of the RINO or controlled opposition or the uni party making promises they have no intention of keeping, of believing and governing as if anger and disappointment will pass, of MAGA having short memories and can be brought easily to heel, and lastly that people will support the lesser of two evils.
This is a mistake you hold at your own peril. Still scoff? Well Kevin McCarthy should have gotten speaker on the first vote! My vote is for people who want to make this country Great and for those who I can actually believe will do so once in power. No exceptions
😎👍
Both Ron and Don are going to need the lion’s share of the squishes if they are to win. Ron has done virtually nothing to please the RINO’s.
Lately this quote from Hamlet comes to mind when Desantis is mentioned:
“Madness in great ones must not unwatched go.”
What is really going on?
Please see my post 75. I’m one of those people you accuse of insult throwing etc., My response to anything anti Trump here on FR has always been delivered with thought and passion. Sometimes with justified anger, especially when I’m called a cultist or my faith is trampled upon. Any name calling or insults obviously goes both ways.
My support for Donald J Trump remains rock solid.
