That is when Russia sells it for $30/barrel discount to the Brent Sea Crude Spot price. Then the Indian refineries turn it into Diesel and sell it to all the countries boycotting Russian crude at a huge profit.
Maybe they even just trans load that Russian crude from one tanker to another and then sell it to the same countries boycotting Russian crude.

I know. When I first read about it I could not believe how much money they were making on this oil trade. Somewhere in the range on $27 million PER DAY. Meaning they had increased their oil purchases from Russia by millions of barrels/day.
They were buying it at a $30 discount to the spot price. The stupid thing is that the countries who were boycotting Russian oil purchases were then buying it from India. That is because India could then sell it cheaper than the market. Oil is a fungible commodity. Once you pump it out if the ground and into a ocean going tanker it is pretty hard to tell Russian oil from Iraqi oil or Nigerian oil or Saudi oil other than its sulfur content.
If you take that Russian oil and refine it to some distillant like diesel or gasoline or heating oil then there is virtually no way to tell where it came from.
Basically, it was the best oil trade since the British brokers got PAID during the beginning of covid to TAKE West Texas crude oil on the front month futures contract. This was when WTC went to zero and then negative. The British company was the only firm that had storage capacity in Houston to take the oil. They literally got paid to take immediate delivery of the oil sold into the WTC contract.
