Stalin wouldn’t have shed a tear if Hitler wiped it off the map. He was very suspicious of people from Leningrad. He had Kirov bumped off, out of fear he would use Leningrad as a base to rival Stalin.
He had most of the “Heroes of Leningrad” killed after the war, because of the fact they pretty much operated outside of Stalin’s authority during the Seige.
Yeah the USSR sure preserved the history of the czar, Stalin’s purges, mass starvation, gulags and slaughters throughout Europe.

The Russian Putinistas renamed Liberty Plaza as Lenin Plaza in the temporarily occupied Ukraine. They fly hammer and sickle flags over Ukrainian mill towns. The Reds are still red on retaining absolute power and control even if they give less lip service to socialist economics. They now have a cult of personality surrounding their 24-year dictator and KGB alumnus.

Any Christian following the great commission of Jesus would have been overjoyed at the fall of the Soviet Union and the opportunity to join together with Russia as allies in Christendom. And Putin has been a leader openly promoting Christianity.
But instead, the neoCONs saw too much money and power to be made by continuing the strife and turning Russia into a perpetual boogeyman. And Ukraine was a perfect place to launder money and commit all sorts of nefarious, illegal activity. These neoCON deep state scum are liars and deceivers and their reward is only in this world that they have used for personal gain at the expense of millions of souls that could have been saved if not for their evil machinations.
