Wow! Check out this link-he was a mad modeler!

The whole video is great, he is talking about his custom built model for the Ford Class USS Enterprise (CVN-80) but this part the link takes you right to shows his attention to detail!

LINK: Ford Class USS Enterprise (CVN-80)

The link shows his build out of the hangar bay with lights and all.

I was not aware these dams are 100 years old.

Thanks for the insight and info.

The “foreign fishing factory ships off our coast” are actually seals, sea lions and birds. All of which prey on salmon out going and returning. These critters have become burgeoned into a huge prey factor since they were deemed “endangered” and “cute” by the know-nothing public.

Plus, very poor salmon management by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife which not only uses bad biology, but politics in its management.

Like Washington State, they manage for release numbers, not return numbers of salmon. This looks good on paper and poor returns can be blamed on other factors - usually commercial fishermen “overfishing” - something which is impossible since they are strictly managed to a ODFW quota. Now, the move may be to blame another scapegoat: “foreign fishing factory ships”.

The actual culprits are the Endangered Species Act and the ODFW. Same for Washington State & California. Only Alaska manages salmon stocks correctly.

He. who controls the water, controls the people-UN Agenda 21.

That is why they are pushing to tear down the dams in WA State. The irony of it is that their stupid excuse is to protect the salmon. But then they want to replace the lost electric power with off shore windmills, which will kill the whales and probably drive away the the salmon.

They can’t have it both ways.

Guild ?

“Electricity produced was too costly to compete with other forms of electric supply. And salmon is nowhere near extinct. Your facts here are garbage. ,”

First off , it was the article that made the assertion, and salmon has many subspecies, so take up the endangered species designation with fish and Wildlife.

Garbage is your issue not mine.
GIGO

2nd

Hydro is the cheapest production of electricity , thus proving you are a moron.

Or a prog, little difference.

//

I also was raised on the Puget sound, and I’ve never met a commercial fisherman who didn’t hate the foreign fishing / canning ships.

Stewardship effects little in competition of those ships off our coast.

I trust zero prog assertions.

Call them what you will, if that helps you feel better and a part of whatever group you want to be included within. The information in the public domain about electric energy cost is legion. I will not bicker about what FERC is or the reliability its data, all of which is in the public record. I will mot do research for you, which the usual response fom someone that disagrees.

Destruction of these dams is what the end of regulatory and governmental institution capture looks like. Yet FReepers like you are falling in line on the side of endorsing big government. To me that's just odd. So continue on with the BLARGHA BLARGHA BLARGH.

First off , it was the article that made the assertion ...

Well if the assertion you are referring to is, " a fish species pushed to extinction" this topic is nowhere in the article. Your commentary made this assertion a part of our discussion. As I understand it, the post removal studies will focus upon Coho, Chinook and Steelhead. Are you saying these species are pushed to extinction?

So, to move to a related topic, where maybe we can find some common ground, has the removal of the Elwha on balance been a good or bad thing?
