Both are likely true.
But in this case it’s not a crime.
It’s a tort.
Correct. They exist and are obligated only:
1. To investigate AFTER a crime has occurred, and
2. Generate revenue for the state.
Protect & serve, indeed.
Don’t many cop cars have “to protect and serve” painted on them?
They need to be charged with fraud then.
“Peterson took off his glasses and sobbed as the judge read off the verdicts, finding him not guilty of seven counts of felony child neglect, three counts of culpable negligence and one count of perjury.”
Far fetch charge.
So now cowardice and dereliction of duty has been okayed. Tell me again why we don’t need to arm ourselves?
I agree as it relates to criminal prosecution and prison. You shouldn’t have to go to jail on top of the knowledge you discover about yourself that you are a horrible, weak coward. That is torture enough I bet. Especially after watching the heroes at the Christian school show the world how it is done.
However, he should lose his pension because it’s obvious he wasn’t able to provide the services he was hired to provide. Therefore, he should not be entitled to a pension. Kind a retroactive performance review.
He should also be forced to pay back all salary, benefits and cost of training for the same fraud he perpetuated.
When seconds count, the police are only years and multiple court hearings away.
What I don’t understand about these school guards (I think called “Resource Officers “.) is; are they there as a police assignment or are they there on a private contract - school\county education administration to guard? In short who is the controlling responsible authoity?
Her got off Scot Free
Similar with parents whose kids die from being left in hot cars. While some may “get off”, they’ll have to live with the memory for the rest of their lives. That’s a pretty heavy punishment.
Personally I hope a few fathers of the victims get together and….
L
I agree with the fraud charge.
So you don’t think Scot got off scot free?
Also, the defendant’s rights weren’t read to him in his native dialect...
He could sue in return since the USSC already ruled recently in Gonzales v Castle Rock that cops do not have to show and do not have to perform heroic actions if they do show.
This was nothing but government harassment.
He was a coward and needed discharged from the police force, but criminal charges were nothing but malicious prosecution.
Affirmed both that cops do not have to show and do not have to take heroic action if they do show.
++++++++++++++
Sounds like a job requirement for working in the Uvalde P.D.
So you don’t think Scot got off scot free?
Legally? I guess he did.
Personally, professionally and financially? Absolutely not.
I recall he either lied about his location or the location of the shooting to the public, while being truthful to the police.
Based on that criteria, 90 percent of the Congress should be charged and tried.
Most police departments, not all, but most.
He’ll still always be remembered as the Coward from Broward.
He needs to look toward Japan to see what someone does when they’ve done something very dishonorable.
