Yesterday at Comanche Lake:
How's everyone doing this morning?
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
I’m surprised Gizmo didn’t go for a swim in the lake. LOL Looks like it was a toasty day.
Nice to see the storms rolling through OK will miss you. Gizmo won’t have to dive under the bed. :-)
1NCD was decommissioned in 2013 and its mission assumed by Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) where I am currently the Deputy Director for Operations.
Glad you were here! Hope you had a great time. You’re right in my my neighborhood.
We spent five months there when I was in third grade as my dad attended a Staff College.
Fast forward to spring of 2010 when I spent a week in VA Beach (where I spent many summer days as a teenager) doing some outprocessing with my company before heading to Ft. Benning for CRC and on to another mission in Iraq.
I went to Little Creek for updates on my shots and pointed out that my typhoid shot was going to expire in about 75 days. They told me they couldn’t update that one because it had to be 30 days before expiration. I didn’t fight it and went on with my other shots.
Guess what I caught in Baghdad less than three months later? You got it…freakin’ typhoid.
Thank goodness for antibiotic drips.
Oy! Stupid military rules! Glad you had those antibiotics!
What you may not know about veterans...

“Wife of an 82nd Airborne Desert Storm combat vet and mother of 2 active duty Army sons here. Those who serve are the very best of us and I have the utmost respect for them. My husband has been out since ‘94 and his military service is still a defining part of who he is. Grateful to be part of a military family. Hooah!”
