American subs have to declare and surface when going through the strait. Then total tonnage is limited.
And as of March 2022, no warships are allowed to transit other than Russian warships returning to Sevastopol.
Turkey has been unwavering in enforcing the treaty since 1936.
Isn’t that what they said the last time around... Turkey stepped in then and escorted the ships.
Turkey has EVERY right to attack ANY foreign military vessel going through the strait without their permission.
At the very least Turkey would publicly announce to the world that an American military submarine had just illegally gone through the strait, violating a major agreement which the USA has promised to honor.

Everyone assumes Russia could or would implement a naval blockade, what type of air force or air defense systems exist in Southern Ukraine to stop aerial attacks on any ship attempting to load/unload cargo at Odessa.
Ukraine has no air force that can do anything, I doubt they have air defense systems covering that area considering Russia controls most of Southern Ukraine.
