If only all the officers in that state would just walk off the job in protest.
> Isn’t it standard procedure for officers to prevent people from approaching an arrest-in-progress? <
Thao’s crime is “failure to intervene”. How could he have noticed that Chauvin was *obviously* doing something wrong while at the same time working crowd control?
He should get Time Served.
I hope he appeals.
Derek Chauvin was doing exactly what his government employer trained him to do. Everything he did, including the restraint, was "by the book."
Does making him a scapegoat for a junkie's death help make it better because it assuages the mob?
Lesson from this, law enforcement needs to police their own better. This new cop is victim of being at the wrong place at the wrong time, deployed with a bad cop. Now he pays for that and he really did nothing wrong.
I thought he stopped breathing. The jury decided murder.
It would make sense to keep the situation under control.
Not going to defend that dumb@$$. He was a trained cop. But he was way over his head and allowed his emotions to get best of him.
That’s when you call an ambulance. They could have arrested him at the hospital.
That restraint was taught to him by his government employer
He didn’t make it up himself.
Is this the cop that gave him the Fentanyl? or did he sell it to him?? did he force him to swallow the fentanyl??
How exactly did this cop contribute to the Death by Overdose while resisting arrest?
Banana Republic shit.
Nope. Chauvin should have finished his shift, gone home, and showed up for work the next day.
He didn’t kill anyone, he didn’t assault anyone, and he wasn’t the criminal in this case. That would be the drug addled thug passing counterfeit $20’s around town.
He’s an independent. So no political party. He’s up for reelection in 2027.
If you’re hiring someone to a police job at the age of 36 and that person isn’t there to meet a “diversity hire” quota, I’d say you are already so close to the bottom of the barrel that you may as well be recruiting at the Special Olympics.
Unbelievable. We are ruled by tyrants to protect drug addicts and pedophiles.
I guess this officer should have body slammed Ofc. Chauvin so that the feral crowd could have murdered them both.
Yup—the lesson to cops is that if you see one of your fellow cops doing something wrong run as far away as possible.
That’s “St. Floyd of Fentanyl”.
Sounds like the blacks racked up another oriental for their BLM body count.
