The B-25 Mitchell medium bomber named the “Ruptured Duck” was the mount of 1st LT Ted W Lawson, who authored the book and was the subject of the movie, “Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo,” one of the greatest WW II films of all time, starring Van Johnson and Spencer Tracy.
I don’t think that Doolittle’s bird had any designation other then Plane #1.

The Hornet was one of three carriers that made up the Yorktown class.

I am growing weary of my very misinformed and ignorant fellow Americans. It seems few of them are acquainted with history.
I don’t care what leftists think about anything. They hate this country, they hate its people, and they really ought to be living somewhere else.
Did any one of the quoted posts provide a specific reason for their opposition? One I read seemed to e angry at linking football to war. That person has a reasonable take but doesn’t quite get the idea of a service school honoring its forebearers. Army does it at Army Navy Game every year when they wear a Division or special unit patch. But I stiil don’t know what the other posters are objecting to.
Reading through their comments, my guess is they already think that’s what this uniform is commemorating. The vast majority know nothing about history.
War crimes are when prisoners are forced on a death march and when they are exausted get decapitated on the side of the road,,
that’s what a war crime is.
