If we show we’re serious about [semiconductor independence]

Perfect. In the meantime just put a 100% tariff on all semi conductors.

Much of what he says sounds like a left-wing caricature of what people on the right sound like to a globalist Free Traitor™

Never thought of Biden as a neocon.

He didn't show up for the meetings?

China could take Taiwan now with no problem under Biden.

I totally agree with Vivek that we should not “send in our young Marine’s” to fight the Chinese in the event they invade.

That said, we should support Taiwan in any way we can without “boots on the ground”.

Kind of like Mike Pence saying he didn’t care about Americans local concerns.. He’s done.

So the two of you recommend flying white flags instead of fighting?

Guess I shouldn't be surprised. We had plenty of your types at the start of WWII and positively the majority of young men during my war.

Ready to hand off our daughters to all those strapping young Chinese men, are we?

The USA promised to assist Taiwan in defending themselves, and we should keep that promise.

All that is required is a few ships blockading oil shipments through the straits of Malacca, and China would starve to death in the dark.

China cannot invade Taiwan without US permission, and giving that permission is both immoral and stupid.

Fine, you go then. I’m not willing for my children and grandchildren to die for Taiwan. And I and my husband are retired military.

BTW, do you think Trump would send troops to Taiwan? No, he would not. That’s one of the few things I like about Trump, and the main reason the deep state doesn’t want him to be president again.

VR (Virtual Reality?) must have just received a largish campaign donation from his ‘overseas friends’.

Many Americans are reasonably unwilling to commit US soldiers to defend foreign nations.

Yes, its far better for them to gain resources unrestricted, so they can bring their attacks here. Then (unless one lives on the opposite coast, where its not their problem), we will have to send our kids to fight and die.

Many Americans live in a dream world cooked up by the Media and Hollywood.

Smooth move getting ccp backing for your presidential run.. The money and the wide-band propaganda should start rolling in.

I respect the fact that you and your husband served our country. It is sad that neither of you learned the salient lesson of our military missions: to keep our country safe from aggression anywhere it can and will crop up against us. We don't have much connection to Taiwan as such - but it is in a vital part of the world and it is also an ally. If we don't demonstrate that our allies can count on us, we end up with zero allies. Not a great position for us and our children and our grandchildren.

I served too, including direct combat in Vietnam and I was severely wounded. I understand the price of wearing the uniform, maybe better than most.
