Well considering Central Banks around the world are buying gold at a record pace...I wouldn’t be laughing too hard.

Gold snatched up by central banks at fastest pace in 55 years

If the US dollar was in trouble...what would you be doing if the big guys are buying up gold at a record pace? Yeah, I thought so.

I don’t think trade would vanish as the exchange of goods would still have demand, but the balance would significantly be altered. We saw demand cause imbalanced trade during covid. The elites really thought they could shut down the economy, but they couldn’t. They harmed it in many ways, but the demand for goods remained.

China and Russia (BRICS, etc.) would pick up the profits they lose to the US federal reserve if they stopped participating in the US monetary hegemony. To them, they see those profits as a strengthening of their economies. I do, too. The US dollar does not need to be involved in their transactions. It would be economic suicide for the US to throw a fit and demand trade restrictions on those that stop using the dollar for trade.

I really don’t think losing the US monetary hegemony would cause any greater economic disruptions than covid already did.

I’ve said since I was a kid and read the Federalist papers that the one thing that is missing from our balance of powers is a people’s court to hold the government accountable. The Founding Fathers thought voting, speech, and guns were enough. They skipped right over the ability for the people to bring their fellow citizens who run the government to criminal court. What happens when the elected officials, their appointees, and those in the courts are all corrupt? We are now experiencing that exact situation.

Or...just a less powerful central government as the Anti-Federalists argued.

“China and Russia are economic basket cases”.

So are we.

A less powerful federal government still left the States to be tyrannical. Where is the ability for the people to prosecute those in government? Nowhere. There is no ability for that. Only the government at local, State, and federal levels can prosecute the government, no ability for the people to do so.

Well, that would be up to the various state constitutions.

On the other hand, there's a break the glass in case of emergency document called the Declaration of Independence. It's messy, but it is also a precedent.

“The asset management companies (including BlackRock, VanGuard, BlackStone, JP Morgan Chase etc.) own $92.38 Trillion Dollar assets priced in US Dollars, and the global GDP is $96.51 Trillion”

That’s pretty amazing. Along with our $32 trillion debt.

Thanks for your view on it. You may be close to truth than
I am. That was just how I saw it.

Yes we do. I agree.

What they don’t have, is an electorate that may get it wrong
at times, but will come back to correct the error.

I still have faith in that.

Hopefully that faith will be rewarded.

I don’t think it’s possible for correct thinking humans to
buy off on Biden again, and I would hope that “our side”
(and I use that term loosely), will hold the Dems to an
honest election this time.

Sociology can never be predicted. You, me, and a hog in Oklahoma can predict as accurately as the other.

Of course, but wouldn’t it be great if we could take civil actions in court to prosecute the criminals in government instead of having to resort to warfare? My background is nuclear war. When everyone screws everything up badly enough, my job was to clean the slate. It would be nice to know you don’t get erased because you had no effect on preventing a criminal government.

No, we’ve observed enough to make educated guesses.

I can see reason for you coming to your conclusion.

It sure would. Run for office and get it passed.
