I joined this site officially over 20 years ago. A lot has happened since then that has moved many Freepers, including myself, from the Neocon, globalist view of the world to one that questions US interventionist policy, which has been a dismal failure. Endless wars have weakened and divided this country. Our disastrous, abject exit from Afghanistan after 18 years is the poster boy for what is wrong with our foreign policy and the disconnect of our leadership from the people.
We have a $2 trillion annual budget deficit this calendar year. We are the world's biggest debtor nation. We have to BORROW THE MONEY to send to Ukraine.
Annual debt servicing costs on our $32.5 trillion national debt are approximately $600 billion. It will soon exceed DOD's annual budget. We can't afford these endless wars that don't involve our strategic national interests.
You sound like a Neocon globalist who never found a war you didn't like. Not one more cent should be sent to Ukraine, one of the most corrupt countries in the world. We are prolonging this proxy war, which started in 2014 after the US/EU engineered coup of the duly elected government of Ukraine. It was led by Victoria Nuland. It spawned the separatist movement in the Donbas and the first unopposed Russian invasion that annexed Crimea.
This all started under the Obama/Biden Administration. We have a compromised President who took millions in bribes from Ukraine. How much of our policy towards Ukraine is affected by the leverage Ukraine has over Biden?
We are now in a new Cold War that has resulted in a global political realignment, which is extremely dangerous for us. Most of the world is ignoring the sanctions against Russia, which has moved closer to China, the real existential threat to America.
As Robert Gates, former defense secretary in the Obama administration, once put it, Biden has “been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” The Biden/Blinken/Nuland/Sullivan/Powers team that started this war in 2014 is back in power. How can anyone trust these fools and knaves to exercise the judgment and competence needed to protect American interests?
Trump has exposed the venal, corrupt Deep State that views the American people as mere pawns to carry out what they deem to be important. They attempted a coup of the duly elected President of the United States after the 2016 election with the Russia hoax and the impeachment over a telephone call to Ukraine. They successfully prevented the re-election of Trump in 2020 and are now in the process of trying to remove him from the ballot in 2024. The J6 Fedsurrection was an intel op.
20 years ago, all of this would be unthinkable. We had far more trust in our institutions. That no longer exists. We will not accept the futile waste of blood and treasure in order to boost the profits of the military-industrial complex that Eisenhower warned us about over 60 years ago. And special interests that donate the big bucks to the political class like Big Pharma, Big Ag, Big Tech, etc. have no allegiance to America and its people.
