The job of Senator and Representative have only one duty - to collect money for their districts & donors.

The Republic did not start out this way, but it didn’t take long to figure out this was the game (especially once Central Banking lept onto the scene). Now the electorate knows it’s just was import (hell more important) to vote yourselves income/benefits rather than work for it.
