Ford may be unable to sell all those EVs.

Don’t believe many farmers have any use for such a thing some times they are in use all day long.

To you and the two posters before (Is there a way to send a comment to multiple people without laboriously typing???).

Infrastructure for sure is a big issue. But honestly I think now for the first time in my life we might have chosen wrong alternative fuel path with EVs.

I think hydrogen would fit our existing infrastructure better—example you could probably modify gas stations to pump H2. Oh and no need for all these rare earth metals.

"the way of the pet rock"

Hey, that's an insult to pet rocks.

Even the older ones still work.

> Embrace the suck.

Ford was told by the globalists they could either manage their eventual bankruptcy or it will be forced on them.

The same is true for virtually every public company with a major presence in the US or Western Europe.

You will own nothing and be happy ...

Ford just got a multi billion dollar loan from Deep State.

And money is fungible, isn’t it...

Ford is laughing all the way to the bank.

With just one’s corporate arms, or with one’s corporate legs? Ford is f@#$ed, ‘cause they embraced the woke suck.
Stop me before I rhyme again.

It also is cost prohibitive at $15.00/equivalent gallon of good ole gas.

The hybrid F-150 is indeed a step backwards

Yeah, the plug-in hybrid design is the best approach for a pickup. Better city fuel economy all the time, plus added all-electric range *if the driver wants it*. No appreciable loss of towing and hauling capability, given the way most half-ton pickups are used. No range limitations on highway trips.

But noooo, gotta eliminate the evil internal-combustion engine.

"Jim Farley, Ford CEO, says he is surprised by the demand for the hybrid version."

Just what you want in a CEO. Someone "surprised" by market demand.

in a diesel electric locomotive, there are giant generators, powered by diesel, that generate the electricity on demand to power the electric motors.

a hybrid Automotive, to my understanding, is a setup with one set of wheels have an electric motor that also has axles going to it with power sourced from the engine.

I could be wrong. I’ve never given a rats ass enough to actually learn the anatomy of Hybrid cars. I work and worked on big construction equipment and Class 8 Trucks.

Essentially, it’s comparing apples to oranges when talking locomotives vs cars.

When, in the history of the USA, was there ever a private company NOT wanting to produce a product their customers wanted ... but instead, manufactured a product in ever increasing numbers that their customers did not want?

The insanity is dumbfounding. The shareholders of Ford should be demanding the entire upper management be fired and replaced with people who know how to run a company and make a profit for their SHAREHOLDERS!!!

The problem with hydrogen isn’t its flammability. The main problem is that it is difficult to contain. The tiny molecule is quite adept at slipping through seals and seemingly non-porous materials.

Hydrogen, being LIGHTER than air, will not hang around very long to mix with it, thus no explosion.

It will rise into the sky, creating static electricity on the way, and produce artificial lightning, which WILL then explode the mixture up there, thus sending a big pressure wave downward, causing the sky to fall, just like Al Gore said.

So when you “fill up” you swap out an old canister of boron nitride with
hydrogenated boron nitride, then the store can send it away to be “charged” again.

I saw Farley on TV yesterday, and thought he must have just gotten back from Tijuana with a brain transplant. He was actually realistic about EV sales. He previously has been touting EVs as if they were mana from heaven. He actually seemed rational yesterday.
