My copy was given to me by a friend of mine when I was living in NM. Somewhere in the early/middle 1980’s. He was a John Bircher (John Birch Society Member).
There were some very intelligent people in that group, but sometimes the rank and file would slip off the edge.
In the early 1970’s I moved to NM (I worked 40 years in the wholesale hardware distribution business), and one of my customers owned a hardware store in Las Cruces, NM and his wife (registrar at NMSU) were both long time John Birch Society members. Both very good/intelligent people.
One day I was in the owner’s office in his store and I noticed a Thompson (semi auto) gun in the corner. He explained he carried one during the war.
We should have listened more closely and taken them more seriously. The left did everything possible to make them look stupid. But on almost all things they were spot on.

I know about the John Birch Society. As with Joe McCarthy they were right about the left. Never been to Las Cruces. Been through Albuquerque more than once. Have driven tractor trailers from Denver to Tempe, AZ a few times. Even had a college pal that was from Albuquerque.
