Wouldn't surprise me at all.
Many times police officers will execute arrest warrants without back up. It’s part of the job.
That is plain stupid to execute an arrest warrant without backup and any police force that allows that is negligent as hell. It isn’t even allowed to work by yourself on a construction site, who calls for help if you get hurt. This cop went looking for this guy, he knew there would be a confrontation. Did he think he was supercop or maybe he really didn’t want a second set of eyes to the confrontation. No, this cop was stupid to do what he did.
That is why the Police need to be ready to pull a trigger on a well aimed gun at all times. Cops need broad protection against losing their jobs or being charged with a crime. What happened in the George Floyd case should never happen again. FAFO is my motto. When the cop tells me to do something, I do it without question. My dad always told me, “don’t call me to bail you out”. “You made a mess, now you clean it up” was the general philosophy.
Maybe he wanted to just get eyes on the guy, then call in a report and ask for backup? Being proactive is not a reason to be killed or scolded. We simply do not have enough information at this time. I am betting somebody does.
