Based on what I’ve seen so far Sean may be right.
It may be temporary as I thought Jordan never wanted the job. He may be trying to help the team but I wonder if his heart is in it.
On the other hand McCarthy was someone who really really really wanted the job and look what we got. :-)

Hannity is a bandwagon guy. He sees a parade and trys to put himself at the front of it
Scalise is a disaster. If this was thr choice then sticking with McCarthy with thr threat to vacate would have been better. It shouldn’t just be the next in line.
One suggestion I have seen is it a poison pill operation. They want Scalise so they trying to sabotage Jordan with GOP-E endorsements
I will stick with Matt Gatez. He nominated Jordan in Jan 2023. He said in interviews this week Jordan is a good choice

It makes sense if you consider how our Leadership punishes people if they disagree or go against them.
My own weak-kneed Congressman, Mark Amodei R-NV, told me when I asked him not to vote for Boehner, “If I don’t vote for him and he wins, I’ll lose my committee positions.”
This is the mindset. I can see that Jordan would hold back until it was a done deal. Not a risk taker for sure. I’m just hoping we get someone that isn’t quite so quick to sell us down the river.

Both Gatez, and some of Gatez foes, have spoken in favor of Jordan this week.
I often wonder who’s doing the criticizing. The responses can be so vile, defensive, unproductive and poisonous that it begs the question if they’re representing our best interest. Or if they’re representing the best interest of our opposition.

One suggestion was made is it is a poison pill approach. Make Scalise Speaker, who has a much lower Conservative rating, by throwing the GOP-E noise machine behind Jordan.
Agree that Jordan might be a good compromise. I hope he doesn’t turn out to be another Trey Gowdy.
I never understood his appeal. He was always a low IQ, talking point repeater.
I don’t recall any depth to his analysis.
Though I disagreed with many of his conclusions, at least Charles Krauthammer was intelligent.
Same for VDH and Mark Steyn.
Even Christopher Hitchens was intelligent, though terribly jaded.

If past is prologue, Jordan will be insufficiently conservative for many who post on this forum.
The heart of the problem.
Jordan will split the “conservatives”, repulse/repel dims crazies or otherwise, and the country will probably be lost.....no longer recoverable.
The only person that can hold the conservatives together and attract enough dims...DONALD TRUMP!
On the other hand it could hurt Trump’s chances to win the presidency. The congress is a total madhouse, as in the lunatics are running the asylum. That makes it very risky.
But Trump understands risk.
