We’ve never heard of a Secretary of Transportation until Buttigieg! For me, not since Federico Pena and the ValueJet crash.
I did a simple Google and Bing search on "Buttigieg" in the news section for the past 24 hours, and Buttigieg has not made a single statement about this problem.
He should have been in front of the cameras by noon this morning.

I was going to say, every part in a plane is identified and numbered. And every numbered part has a supplier. And every supplier has a source, and originator for the physical part. Failing bolts or any other part can be traced back to its origins, even if the last stop is a corrupt supplier in Shanghai with a backyard steel mill making pot-metal parts.
