Carrying a Glock with a round in the chamber is the same as carrying a hammer-fired semi-automatic in Condition 0 "cocked and unlocked", and is riskier than Condition 1 "cocked and locked".
Condition 4 – The chamber is empty, the hammer is down, and there is no magazine in the gun.
Condition 3 – The chamber is empty and the hammer is down with a charged magazine in the gun.
Condition 2 – A round is in the chamber and the hammer is down.
Condition 1 – Also known as "cocked and locked"; a round is chambered, the hammer is cocked, and the manual thumb safety is engaged. This is the preferred condition for carrying.
Condition 0 – A round is in the chamber, hammer is cocked, and the safety is off.

You're confusing pistols with a hammer vs striker fired pistols. The conditions you mention above are applicable to a hammer fired pistol, not a striker fired pistol. No way will a Glock fire without the trigger being pulled as there is no way for the firing pin to get past the firing pin safety and the drop safety. So a Glock is not cocked like a 1911 when it's ready to fire. Therefore, it's much safer than a 1911 and it goes bang when you squeeze the trigger, without any safeties needing to be disengaged beforehand. I'll take my utterly reliable Glock over a 1911 any day of the week.
If my Glock isn't on my person it's locked up in a gun safe or in the gun vault by my bed. No way would my dog have access to it at any time. Anyone with a chewed up grip left it where an animal or a child could have access to it, which isn't very smart.
Combat is an oven. Count on it.
