The real problem is that your sort of 'pragmatism' leaves us in the status quo forever. The only thing that has stopped many of us from randomly shooting the bastards who deserve it is the illusion that the supreme court is a bulwark. When your deep state buddies decide to kill off Thomas, there is not going to be nothing left.
You think the police state is going to be on your side, as has been clear for years now. But you are a fool, because they'll kill you without even noticing that they've done so.
