“maybe sink something at Vladivostok.”

I doubt that major Western weapons providers would accept that much of an escalation (unless in response to some Russian escalation, to restore deterrence).

Also, time is not unlimited to achieve attrition of Russian capability around Ukraine, before (eventually, inevitably) hostilities cease. Post conflict conditions should be set as favorably as possible, while it is still a free fire zone.

Sink more Black Sea Fleet vessels.

Agreed. But a few attacks elsewhere will divert limited Ruzzian resources to outside of the combat theatre of operations.

Time for Ukraine to sink Ruzzia’s ruzted and buzted aircraft carrier. It won’t affect the war but it will hurt Ruzzia’s precious feelings.

I feel that the Admiral Kuznetsov does more to embarrass and disgrace the Russian Navy by continuing to chug along at its maximum speed of "Slow Ahead," billowing clouds of partially combusted diesel visible to the naked eye from hundreds of km away!

Real stealth technology, that!

The RN base was moved to GA and out of the war zone. Logical move.

Yeah, because it's a smart move to relocate all of your military assets as far away as possible from where the action is, in the war zone.

Wouldn't want anything to "happen to them," after all!

Putin should also shift all of his precious tanks to the Far East, where they would be safe!

I would likewise recommend that he re-deploy all of his ground troops to Vladivostok, for some much-needed R&R. Say for about twelve months.

Regards,

Interesting picture.

The US Navy had a few ships looking like that ... So did the Imperial Japanese Navy ... back in the early 1940s.

Generally as a result of one of those two navies getting very unfriendly with the other one.

How about the Russians give the Iranians missles to sink US carriers ?

I guess th NeoCons would get their war then, but if they can sink one, they can sink them all.

I don’t cheer when either Russians or Ukrainians die in war.

Since when do we keep naval bases in a hot war zone? Umm, never. Ships are always stationed OUTSIDE a war zone when ever possible. Ships in port are very vulnerable.

EXACTLY! So Russia would do well to re-locate all of their military bases, naval bases, and armed forces to someplace safe. Like, say, the Far East. They would be out of harm's way there!

Clearly you know nothing of naval doctrine. Go away.

But the loss of these Russian bases and dry docks is new, this was not foreseen 20 months ago, or a year ago.

These Navy victories by Ukraine were not anticipated and are shocking, Russia’s new doctrine was imposed on them by a successful enemy against normal Russian Navy operations.

Agree, but the Russo Navy had the ability to shift it’s Black Sea infrastructure so quickly speaks volumes too. The dry dock loss hurts a lot.

Why not just agree that it was a huge and surprising naval victory by Ukrainian forces and a huge setback for the Russian Navy, and there is no reason to think that the suffering is over for the Russian Navy?

I would say the loss of the dry dock is the biggest set back. Dry docks are rare things.
