I can’t say about the vpn, See link below, but yes on the streaming companies and cable companies. I watched a show on marketing some As seen on tv product and they knew who was watching and how long and when they tuned out.
AOL and Facebook and Plex, Sling tv etc. and all the social media sites track your every move and record what you write if you post. they look for something they can sell to you or others. You are their product.

What I and my DW do just about every day is monitor our credit cards for unauthorized charges. They have been “cloned” or outright “hi-jacked” several times in recent years.
The CC companies do not even attempt, so far as I can tell, to catch the “cloners” or “hi-jackers!” They just void the transaction, cancel the cards in question, issue new credit cards, and press on. I guess 22% interest rates pays for the FRaud?
I sent them an email. I doubt they will listen.
