Only because left-wing American Jews must be slow learners to start with.
Why should they be shocked?! Omar, Tlib, AOC and others have been vocal about it for years.
I would imagine that it was an interesting, but lonely, journey.
So many Democrats are going to be voting Republican, i.e. Trump, in 2024.
The fix is in. Do you really believe Creepy Joe won in 2020?
Jews for millennia have been slow to recognize who wants to kill them.
The “D” party:
- Jews
- Feminists
- 2SLGBTQIA++
- Marxists
- Satanists
- Islamists
We’ve been saying for a while that this does doesn’t jive. A leftist supporting “free Palestine” was shocked to learn they don’t support his “trans agenda”. Shocking!
Feminists are silent on “trans women” in women’s spaces. Shocking!
Gays find they’re not aligned with Islamists. Shocking!
Now Jews find the whole party isn’t aligned with them. Shocking!
Talk about a complete set of contradictions. It’s what happens when you play identity politics and really don’t give a sh*t about any of the.
If the “R”s were smart they’d use this to push these deep divisions within the “D” party and destroy it. ...sigh, I won’t hold my breath.
“They’ll still vote Rat.”
Maybe some will. Perhaps those that have not been “directly” harmed or threatened. But many of them will see the light. And at this point in our nation’s demise, I’ll take (gladly) any victories I can get.
This really has been a severe shock to many.
Reading Milton Friedman and Robert Ringer, and dancing to funky music helped.
Well, Dennis is no right winger, by any stretch, but he doesn't seem to be holding out much hope that his fellow liberal Jews will see the light in any substantial numbers as he ends this piece with uncharacteristic realism:
"But the liberal Jew is inexcusably naive about the Left, nearly all of whose positions have nothing in common with liberalism, not to mention with the Torah. Maybe some will repent. But don't bet on it."
The one ray of light that I see is tiny, but real. There have been a lot of new Jewish gunowners in the past month. People living in places like Santa Monica, Marin, Thousand Oaks, and the like who were loudly and unapologetically hostile to gun rights have found themselves in gun stores, and are confronting the annoying hurdles that California puts in front of law-abiding gun owners. "What do you mean I have to wait 10 days to pick up my pistol? I need it NOW!" And they're learning about other blue state's restrictions as well. Things that were thought to affect only flyover country have suddenly come home to roost, and the reality can be a big splash of cold water. Some of those folks are going to have their eyes opened in other areas as well, all of which will do some damage to the Democrat coalition.
Probably not so much with regard to votes, most live in solidly blue areas anyway. But we might see some shifts in fundraising patterns that will prove more difficult for the Democrat machine over time. We can hope.
:)
Dennis Prager is probably more right wing than most of FR. He runs a right wing channel "called PragerU" that you can look up on Youtube.
I've known of him since at least the late 90s as he used to go on "Politically Incorrect" with Bill Maher to represent the conservative point of view.
