And a damn sight cheaper.
Lot fewer taxes in Florida.
Yeah Sure, it really could be his parents that is driving him to move there.
Bezos is filthy rich and can move his parents any place he’d like. That he’s moving to Florida, around the same time lots of other billionaires and ordinary people are also moving to Florida, might just be more about escaping punitive taxation and punishing regulation, such as are found in the blue states they are fleeing.
Yeah Sure, it really could be his parents that is driving him to move there.
Yeah...his parents.....and more accommodating tax laws.
Lower taxes plus he probably wants to give his trophy wife plenty of opportunities to walk around in a bikini.
Prime Miami area property is very expensive.
Indian Creek is very, very expensive.
Democracy Dies in Humidity!
He seems to be happy with the new wife, but the divorce was costly - he probably could have bought up all of the Miami area tidal waterfront property for the amount the divorce cost.
“punishing regulation”
Amazon does business in many jurisdictions and probably has thousands of people dealing with compliance.
Sure, but in his tax bracket, just the money he saves in state income tax compared to California will likely buy multiple mansions.
Tax haven for the rich so he can buy more yachts
Looks like he bought some boobs, too...sorry, could not resist.
Washington state has no income tax, which is enshrined in our state Constitution.
That is why we have a disproportionate share of start up tech companies and billionaires.
Over the last 25 years, the Democratic Party has achieved total dominance over every state and federal political office.
Before 2000, much of our government was controlled by centrist and center-left Republicans.
About three years ago, the Democrats decided to impose a broad 7% capital gains tax on the rich (homes and real estate excluded).
The rich are defined as anyone with more than $250,000 of capital gains in one year.
Our State Supreme Court - all Democrats - decided that capital gains are NOT income, so they are taxable.
If Bezos decides to sell AMZN stock shares as a state resident, he would owe 20% (long term) federal cap gains plus 7% Wash. state cap gains.
LOL. I see a PAIR of great stimulants.
Trophy wife can get a better tan in Florida, too.
His first wife, Mackenzie, is a Macloser and I hope he has an iron clad pre-nup with the current tart.
Well, I’m not a guy, but I’d think something that fake and extreme would be a turn OFF.
(And it’s hard to view something that cheap looking as a ‘trophy’.)
