It seems like it has been a defacto state, for the last decade or so. But what did Hamas do as leader of “Palestine”. They spent all their time and effort building tunnels and infrastructure with one goal. The elimination of Israel.

Exactly right!

If they want to be treated like decent people, they should start acting like decent people but I'm not holding my breath.

And as far as I'm concerned, they can have their own country, but they can't have Israel.

Solutions exist but none are good.
A) Israel lets Palestine people vote and give them equal rights as citizens of Israel. Jewish state will be gone.
B) All Arab-Islamic/Christians driven out or killed—a “Final Solution” Only Jews permitted in Israel.
C) Cut Israel in two—right in the middle. All Arab—Islamic, and Christians forced to one side, all Jews to the other. Iron wall between then—No Contact between the two states for 100 years. (The Two State solution).
D) All European/American Jews leave—return to Europe and or America. Let Holy Land become just like all the other crapo states in the area.
E) Rebuild the Temple and force all people to become Jews. Let the Anti-Christ sort out the problem.
F) Kick the can down the block and keep doing what has been done for the last 75 years. (The most likely answer).

On 9/11/21, Arafat panicked and immediately offered to donate blood to New Yorkers as to be sure he and his monkeys weren’t to be blamed for the attacks, a sign of a guilty soul for all the other horrors they were perpetuating.

Arafat died in 2004.

Gaza is a failed lab experiment for a Palestinian homeland. If they can’t run a small land strip peacefully and with all that international aid then no dice. That Hamas gained control of Gaza is all the proof of failure necessary.

They can never be a functional state. They are corrupt, insane and single-function destructive, and a significant percentage have an in-the-family gene pool.

Will yet another Palestinian state envisioned by Anthony Blinken or some think tank become just one more “failed state,” indeed a state destined to fail?

Hell yes! If you gave the palestinians Switzerland, they'd turn it into a hellhole within two years.

Yep, you are correct, Abraham Accords
My reading of events to date.
1. Israel has indicated that Gaza will be occupied for an undetermined duration
2. The Hamas clearing operations have spilled over into the West Bank that is nominally governed by the increasingly ineffective Palestinian Authority headed up by President Mahmoud Abbas who is now in way over his head
3. There was just days ago an Arab Summit that resolved to more or less follow the old course of post Israeli war in Palestine. The resolution was vetoed by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the money sources.
4. The Abraham Accord coalition will be responsible entity in the form of some sort of commission that will provide governance and most importantly money to take over all of Gaza and of the West Bank. There is a new sheriff in town. There is in fact a new and different town.
5. My belief is that the commission or what ever will be composed of Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the United States and Egypt and or Jordan. The group will be kept small to insure relative easy agreement. Moracco for instance will not provide a member.
6. Although they will have no choice in the matter, citizens of Gaza and the West Bank will come to welcome the security of order, and more importantly the money that will flow from Saudi Araba, the USA, and the UAE.
7. Over the long haul, there can be more than just money incoming. Given a stable political status and relaatively stable economy, there can be economic development that was simply impossible under the decades old status quo.
8. At the root of all this is President Donald trump and his people who had the vision to upset the apple cart and replace it with a new up to the minute truck to carry lots of stuff besides merely a few apples

As usual......
I observe and present a finding

A better case could be made for saying that the West Bank is the lab experiment. Gaza was basically a high-rise housing project that wasn’t going to amount to much. Try that over here. Declare an urban housing project independent and see what happens.

Inasmuch as this has been tried before and failed, I suggest that the “Palestinians” be resettled somewhere less proximate to the state of Israel. Perhaps somewhere in Central Asia? One of the ‘Stans would work. Or how about an Israel-sized piece of Central Africa. What about a nice spot separating Chile from Peru? It wouldn’t require much real estate and if chosen properly, a Palestinian state could act as a buffer between two historic antagonists.

Just my $0.02....

Arafat died in 2004.

Brain not working. I was to write "2001". Skipped right past those zeroes.
