Dingbat here pinky-swore in the name of SCIENCE!™ that if there was ANY genetic engineering with COVID--any such attempts would leave unerasabe taxes; she said, IIRC, she'd used standard software to examine the genetic traces, as had ("probably") thousands of other molecular biologists all over the world, and according to her, none of them found any trace. She's an overconfident, piss-poor liar. Who gets more extravagant the more she thinks she has gotten away with.

I don’t understand how this helps prove that Covid did not originate in a laboratory. The “lab leak” theory suggests that Covid was Frankenstein-ed together from components of natural origin, not that it was fabricated from scratch, nucleic acid by nucleic acid.
Why does it matter if a furin cleavage site can be found in some virus in some animal somewhere? What, of relevance, does that prove? How do you even know whether or not that “natural” virus has some “unnatural” precursors?
