Better safe than sorry, that’s why we still need NATO
There is no reason for the US to spend tens of billions on European defense when those ingrates spend nowhere what we do. Shut 'em down and let the Europeans pay for their own defense. I'm not worried about Russia invading the US. Red China is a much greater threat to the US and the rest of the world. We need to beef up the Pacific theater. That's where the greatest danger lies. Screw Europe. If they haven't figured it out after two world wars then they can learn the lesson a third time...without our help.

Hardly. Why should the US shoulder the biggest share of Europe's defense? The days of the possibility of the Russians streaming through the Fulda Gap are long over. Putin can't even take on one former Soviet republic without gutting his military. So tell me why we should worry about Europe. Especially if they can't be bothered to provide for their own defense. So if you want to knock what I have to say, rebut it with an intelligent response as to why we should stay in NATO.
