Is it? The Russia WAS the Soviet Union; the USSR was created by and controlled by Russia, and made its capital in Moscow (Russia). EVERYTHING the USSR did or originated was orchestrated in and approved by Moscow. Have you not seen the parades in Moscow since the 1990s? The Soviet flag is prominently displayed. And, irony of ironies, Russia jettisoned its communism for fascism, which was the political philosophy of its WWII ally, then foe, Nazi Germany.
It is not a threat to the US. The Deep State and the left are a thosound times bigger threat.

Because it was a meaningless statement: Putin has no control over our laws or our constitution. And you just now added the bit about the government. But the law is on our side in that regard. Well, unless you live in Washington, D.C.

If European NATO is invaded by Russia, and it refuses to do anything to defend itself, then the US should tell Europe it is on its own. That’s a no-brainer. Try to pose a better premise next time.
