Do you also call the cops whenever someone says they’re going to kill someone over something trivial? If there are a couple of different ways to take something that could mean something either highly illegal or routine - and it is said on TV, it’s the routine meaning. Participating means volunteering. You got caught saying something dumb in service to a politician you fell in love with. Try not to do that anymore.
