“She should tell them she received a call from someone who attended J6.”
—————-
Uh, these calls go to the police, not to the victim. The victim becomes the victim when armed police show up, having (usually) been told that there’s someone at the location who’s armed and acting in a threatening manner.
WRONG! Swatting is a criminal harassment act of deceiving an emergency service into sending a police or emergency service response team to another person’s address. This is triggered by false reporting of a serious law enforcement emergency, such as a bomb threat, murder, hostage situation, or a false report of a mental health emergency, such as reporting that a person is allegedly suicidal or homicidal and may or may not be armed, among other things.
In March 2019, a California man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for carrying out a fatal 2017 swatting. Swatting carries a high risk of violence and causes resources to be wasted by the city or county when responding to a false report of a serious law enforcement emergency, as well as liability if things go wrong.
It’s been said that the first step to solving a problem is understanding what the problem is, and that it exists...
... The last line of your comment makes that point.
When the police are called with a hostage in place, or mass guns with the threat of major violence and/or multiple dead.
It’s also a hoax call.
According to the FBI.
Sure. Go ahead and call the FBI on this.
Yep.
These are terroristic tactics.
