Oh my. The number’s gone up since the evening news. But considering where it happened, it’s good that there weren’t more injured. I hope they don’t find any more.

They mentioned it was built around 1920 and had been remodeled. I have a thing for historic buildings and always feel sad when one is destroyed somehow or is demolished.

I hope you’re able to do your work at home and aren’t set back by not being able to get to your office.

The power KEEPS going out briefly. Each time, my heart stops and wonder if it’ll come back on. My guess is a power line somewhere has a loose connection and when the wind moves the line just right, the connection breaks momentarily. Whether it holds up the next 24 hours remains to be seen.

Hey there, radu!

I felt the need to share. LOL! It really isn’t fun at all! It’s settled down a bit here now, thank goodness. However, weirdly enough, the temp has dropped a lot from last night. 37 as opposed to 52 this time last night.

Did you get rain with your wind. I keep seeing snow showing up in your area in the next few days. hope they’re wrong about that!

It really, really isn’t fun. It was breezy all day and around 4:00, it went from breezy to roaring as if someone flipped a switch. I was outside when it happened.

The power keeps going out - and just went out as I started typing this - but does come back on. Just have to wait a minute for the modem to reset when it happens.

The radar showed it raining here a couple of hours ago but reality is it started raining just a little while ago.

We’re supposed to get a little snow tomorrow evening on the backside of this mess, but it won’t stick. The ground’s too warm. The mountains will probably get a dusting though.
Another system comes through Friday and there a chance for snow with that. Might get a dusting then.

A very pleasant good Tuesday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks Lauren for this morning's thread.

Yesterday at Comanche Lake:

Winds howling as I speak. So far no power buts but we'll see what happens.

How's everyone this morning?

I don’t envy you that wind. It nearly drove me up the walls! Luckily, we didn’t lose power, thank goodness! It’s 20 degrees colder tonight after the high wind moved out. Kinda weird.

I hope the snow doesn’t become a problem even on the mountain. I guess winter truly is here!

Glad y’all got to go to the lake before the wind started up. Are you expecting snow in your area?

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

You’re up mighty early. Did the wind wake you up? Glad your power hasn’t acted up yet.
The wind’s howling here, too, and the power’s blipped many times already.

Nice to see you and Gizmo were able to get out for some fun yesterday.

This kind of wind will drive anyone up the walls. It’s had the cats nutso all day, even when it wasn’t blowing real hard this afternoon.

Not weird at all that it’s colder there now. It’s a cold front that’s moving across the country. We’ll be colder after it moves through tomorrow, hence the chances of snow flurries tomorrow evening.

And now I wait a couple of minutes for the modem to reset. Another hard power blip. Three in a row, actually.

I sure hope they are just “blips” and don’t become power down. You certainly don’t need that right now!

Speaking of kitties. When I opened the door earlier today to let Peaches in, Shadow dashed in after him. He inspected every room in the house. I finally had to pick him up...he weighs a ton...and plop his butt back outside before Ginger got riled up. He really likes it indoors. Hubby wasn’t at home at the time, so he wasn’t afraid to explore. I’m just not certain how housebroken he’d be. And then there’s Ginger and her hatred for any other cat. LOL!

They’ve been blips so far but hard blips. I don’t know how many there have been since my last post because I stopped counting at 20. Somewhere between here and the substation, there must be a bad connection and when the wind moves that power line the wrong way, the blips happen. Have to hope it doesn’t break.

I just took a quick spin around all the buildings (in the car, of course) and nothing big down at this point. A lot of small tree debris on the ground. That wind is WILD. I won’t get an accurate reading in the rain gauge because I’m sure a lot of rain is being blown past the top. We’ve had a good amount though.

Poor Shadow. He’d love to be able to spend some time inside, obviously. Too bad Ginger won’t allow it. And that he’s spooked by your hubby. At least he was gone at the time and Shadow got to explore everything before being hauled back outside. Bet it made his day. LOL

I wonder if there isn’t a tree branch or an actual tree interacting with that power pole or the wires near it to cause the blips. Whatever it is, I hope your power company deals with it before it becomes a real issue. If it does go down, do you have a gas furnace or space heater that would be operable without electric power?

He was very proud of himself. Kept wanting to come back in, but I had to leave him out. And then hubby came back home not long after. Oh, and Peaches just ignores him. Ginger doesn’t like any cats. She’s rough with Li’l Bit when she comes in. Shadow is bigger than her. She’s not dumb. LOL!

As of right now still no loss of power. No we didn't get any snow here but it's still a little windy.

Actually, I slept pretty good last night. The cold weather makes for pretty good sleeping.

I, too, find that cold weather makes for better sleeping. Nice to be all cuddled up under the covers instead of sweating on top of them. LOL!

Glad you haven’t had any power outages!

There’s no telling what’s going on to cause the blips. At least they seem to be taking a break because there hasn’t been one since I got back in the house. And because I said that, they’ll probably start happening again. LOL
The gas heater from the old house is over here in the living room. Hubby moved it soon after we moved here so there’d be some heat if the power goes out. But if the power goes out tonight, I’d still be cold because that darn heater takes two to light the pilot light. No way I’d call anyone in the middle of the night to help me with it.

Shadow would probably be fine spending time inside if he wasn’t afraid of your hubby. Ginger might not like it but she knows to keep her distance. After a while, she’d ignore him as long as he didn’t stick his nose in her face. LOL I’ve had cats like Ginger, and do now, and that’s how it’s always worked out. Lily’s my current stinker and she’s fine until one of the others gets too close. Then she’s a spitfire for a few seconds. LOL But she’s made friends with a few of the others and snuggles up with them to sleep. Cats are crazy lil critters.

Yay! I envy your good luck with your power! I hope it hold through the rest of this windy mess.
It’s still windy here but, for now at least, the blips have stopped. I hope it stays that way because each blip made my blood pressure jump a few notches. LOL

Gurl, you keep this up you’ll be a bonafied vampire like me. LOL You stayed up LATE tonight.

Things have calmed down a little bit outside at last. Still pretty windy but not as bad as earlier. No more power blips and I think I’ve calmed down enough to be able to sleep. Everything’s done and I’m headed to give sleep a try.
From what they just said on the weather report, I need to sleep while I can. We get this all over again Thursday and Friday. *sigh*
Catch ya tomorrow for the quiz.
