It must be a religious war, not a political battle. It's hard to imagine people with any knowledge of history hating on life in the Modern Warm Period. In the cold periods of the past few thousand years there's always lower crop yields, less predictable rain patterns, and more deaths by plague. Especially in the last one that ended in the 1800's.

In our warm period we literally have our government paying some farmers to keep land fallow so we don't grow too much food! That's how "bad" it is to live during global warming.

Bible geek notes: Find the two red humps labeled "Holocene Comate Optimum". The one on the right, topping off 4,000 years ago, trace it on the way down until it bottoms out roughly 3,500 years ago. That cooling period occurred between the Jewish patriarchs and Moses (Jewish captivity in Egypt). The Minoan Warm Period (from roughly 1500 BC to 1100 BC) corresponds to the Era of Judges (Moses to Samuel). From there it topped off and started going down (Greek Dark Age cooling period), at about the same time the Jews demanded the prophet Samuel anoint them a king. Thus the Greek Dark Age cooling period corresponds to the Era of Kings. Of course, Jesus and the apostles lived during the Roman Warm Period -- when the Greek city Ephesus was a port city because water levels were high enough then for the coast to be there (unlike today, with the coast miles away from the ruins of Ephesus, suggesting that today's Modern Warm Period ain't as warm as the Roman Warm Period was when Paul wrote his famous letter to the Ephesians).

So from the days of the Jewish patriarchs to today we've gone through multiple centuries long warming and cooling cycles within the Holocene Glacial Period. From now on as you read the Bible anywhere from Genesis 12 through Revelation, look up where you're at in the climate cycles on this graph. Remember that as things are cooling is when people had to depopulate from cities because crop yields go down and people have to spread out to utilize more land. The cooling down times are the bad times. Yet when the people turn back to God (i.e. days of King Josiah or King Hezekiah) God blesses them even when the climate says it should be bad times. Likewise during the warming times (naturally good times during the era of judges/Minoan warming period, but when people turn from God it can be ugly -- we need God even in good times like our Modern Warm Period).

That is not true. They have fudged the numbers. They use “adjusted numbers” and in the earlier years they have adjusted the numbers down and adjusted the numbers up in later years, making the later years averaging more than the earlier years.

Have not posted this for a while. Thought I would here:

For those curious:

CO2 only absorbs infrared light aka heat in two very narrow bands of wavelengths (think “colors” of heat). In those narrow bands, CO2 is almost completely opaque.

Even at only 0.04% of our atmosphere, CO2 absorbs almost all infrared light in those bands within a few tens of meters. Hence, if you increased CO2 by even 10 times, the total amount of infrared light (again, heat) absorbed by the atmosphere would NOT CHANGE.

Think about it like this: You have 10,000 sheets of very thin semi-opaque paper. Each sheet abosbs 0.04% of light passing through it. That means those 10,000 sheets will aborb almost all of the light passing through them.

Note: the math is a little complicated. First sheet aborbs 0.04% of the light leaving 99.96% left. Next sheet abosorbs 0.04% of the remaining 99.96% leaving about 99.92%. Next sheet aborbs about 99.96% of that, leaving 99.88% left. After about 10,000 sheets, only about 1.83% of the light is left. Basically all of it has been absorbed (and likely converted into heat).

Consider those sheets to be about 1 meter thick (that is a gross overestimation — it’s probably more like 10 cm thick, but erring on the side of a conservative estimate). That means your 10,000 sheets are a combined 10km thick. The atmosphere is about 10,000km thick. Hence all infared light is abosbed in the first 1/1,000 of the atmosphere.

How much more light is absobed if you increase the opaqueness of those sheets? Answer: none.

Outside of those narrow bands, CO2 is almost completely transparent. So again, if you increased CO2 by even 10 times, the amount of infrared light (again, heat) would NOT CHANGE.

Now the climate “scientists” try to handwave and “computer model” their way around these basic physics facts. After all, computer models are always right (/sarc). But that’s how the REAL physics works.

Short version: manmade aka CO2 cause climate change is not just a hoax, it is not even a very good hoax for those who know the physics. Unfortunately the level of basic physics education in this nation is basically nil with the exception of real engineers, physicists, and scientists.
