Ukrainians and Russians are the same thing, basically.
The ONLY difference is that we had an economic and political interest in Ukraine.
But BOTH nations are pseudo-democracies and in fact Russia will have their elections while Ukraine canceled them, Russia has a opposition party running on an entirely anti-war platform while in Ukraine they de facto banned all opposition parties, the media control and blackout is far worse by the Ukrainians...

Both once were part of the same empires throughout history and often faced the same enemies (common history).
Both are economically major trading partners historically (tied together).
Today we try very hard to make them out as different, but that’s just not true.
Claiming the Ukrainians are a different people than the Russians is like claiming the Austrians are different from the Germans, both are Germanic, Catholic/Protestant, speak German, have a shared history...
But... now the Russians are the bad guys again (because they won’t let us do whatever, to whomever, and whenever we want) because they stand in the way of our economic and political interests.

No one will be able to answer that except if they use an unrealistic boogieman argument (the Russians wanting to conquer the world) or resort of fluffy slogans like democracy, sovereignty and human rights which really do not address the question and are entirely BS since Ukraine isn’t a real democracy, isn’t really sovereign, and has a horrible human rights record.
Russia has no room to talk. But Zelensky is just as big a thug as Putin.

personally I would have no beef with Ukraine....but we do know the connections between them and the evil buyden administration....and the enemy of my enemy is my friend..
