And if nobody but the US Navy was out there maintaining freedom of the seas, somebody else would be bitchin’ about how we’re arrogantly being the world’s policeman or something. I welcome the cooperative efforts of the worlds civilized (or even semicivilized) navies.
This reminds me of the build-up to 9/11. 1998 embassy attack followed by feeble response. 2000 USS Cole attack followed by feeble response. The Biden regime seems to be looking for a big enough excuse to go to war.
I worked with the Indian Navy back in the 1990s and they had a lot of drive to be a Blue Water NAVY. Only a few things are limiting that, which are the lack of Naval Air to Air refueling abilities and true over-the-horizon Air Control and Direction. Their Harrier Pilots were completely crazy as they would come in 30 feet off the Water to conduct mock attacks (So did the Spanish), but the MIG 29K is a completely different animal.

As it should be now that the Brits’ days of having to protect colonies all over the world are long-gone as well as they really don’t need one for defense.
We have a significant vacuum of leadership at the moment, even for the truly feckless Biden administration: the Secretary of State is stuck in Switzerland, the Secretary of Defense has (reportedly) been located and is now home after a mystery medical procedure about which his Assistant Secretary knew nothing, Biden himself couldn’t tell you what day it is if you gave him three guesses, the Vice President can’t even locate the U.S. border, and nobody left wants to take responsibility for the sort of decision that is necessary in this case.
