It was never about EV vs Real Cars. It was a trap.

I want every single member of Congress to drive in a caravan-—with them actually driving-—N & E across the Black Rock Desert & continue east to Wendover, Nev & then to Salt Lake city, south to US 50 & west back to Reno.

There is no such thing as “15 minute cities” anywhere along that route.

Then, they can drive around Utah& do lots of the same kind of route.

China can have EVs, because they NEED EVs, because they work in China, just due to their local pollution. Additionally, China is building nukes at a record pace, so unlike the US, they’re not just moving the pollution around.

Yes, they have 20-odd nuke plants in various stages of construction. Don't overlook their *300* planned coal-fired powerplants, though. The good news, though, is that eventually the coal miners in northern England and Kentucky will have jobs again.

Yep, there was NEVER a plan to build the infrastructure for EVs because their aim was to get rid of your freedom of movement.

Private entities aren't going to take the risk of installing expensive DC fast charging stations unless they can make a worthwhile profit. Those are expensive to install. In big metro areas they can't build them fast enough. In flyover country the demand is minimal outside of metro areas. If you glance around on Tesla's supercharging webpage it suggests EVs are metro area commuting cars.

I’ll make a prediction here. Within 8 years, perhaps less, the federal government will wind up owning GM and Ford. Both are losing their asses on EV’s and that isn’t likely to ever change. Ford took out a 9.2 billion dollar “loan” from the government to facilitate their EV business. They can’t keep losing 32 grand on each EV forever so my guess is that at some point they will default on the loan. The government will acquire the company as settlement for the loan. GM will not be far behind. The precedent was set back in 2009 with the previous bailout of the Big 3. The new “Government Motors” will subsidize the costs of production so as to keep the UAW members employed and undercut Toyota, Honda, et al and drive them from the field. Consumers will be left with only one choice: buy what Government Motors sells or walk. But of course that has been the plan all along.

Yes -- PEASANTS.

I'm talking about their culture and mindset, not their job functions.

That's a nation of more than a billion docile, compliant people who will do whatever their overlords tell them to do. It doesn't get any more "peasant" than that -- even among educated professionals.

“Real men like to fix things, electric cars are for girly men.”

Modern ICE cars basically require a computer science degree to service them. That’s not hyperbole I personally know of service techs that require a degree to be employed with the dealership. Every component in a modern vehicle is computer controlled every servo, every sensor, even the headlights and taillights are monitored by CANBUS forget about shadetree work you need dedicated diagnostic equipment for any vehicle newer than the early 2000s. California and the lefty states are making it illegal to keep pre2010 engines that are not modernized exhaust systems specifically diesels but they will do the same for older gas cars. Classic cars will be given an exemption with very limited mileage limits typically 5000 per year or less. This is easily verified at inspection time via the ODO and with the GPS black boxes coming for pay by the mile even easier to monitor miles driven. There is no way to cheat around a fully tyrannical government when the full force of law every law is against the activity they seek to limit. You can vote your way into fascism you have to shoot your way out and American are weak they will never raise arms so it is what it is and will be.
